Born in Pakistan, raised in Saudi Arabia, and living in London for over 22 years, my work carries every place I have ever called home. The Sunehri Mandala cushion is one of those pieces where all of that comes together. Sunehri means 'golden' in Urdu, and the mandala, a symbol of wholeness found across South Asian, Islamic and global traditions, feels like the perfect motif for someone who has always lived between cultures.
Each cushion is hand block printed using traditional Pakistani wooden blocks, pressed by hand onto vibrant patchwork fabric in my Leyton, London studio. The gold mandala design catches the light beautifully against the multicoloured cotton patchwork, creating something that feels both rooted in heritage and completely alive in a modern home.
No two are exactly alike. That is the nature of handmade and I think that is exactly the point.
