Gulabi means pink. Aangan means courtyard. Together, Gulabi Aangan conjures the image of a sun-drenched pink courtyard, the kind you find in the old cities of Pakistan, where light filters through carved screens and every surface tells a story. This set is my love letter to that world, made by hand in my Leyton, London studio.
Born in Pakistan, raised in Saudi Arabia, and living in the UK for over 22 years, my work carries every culture I have ever been shaped by. The mandala, a symbol found across South Asian, Islamic and global traditions, feels like the perfect motif for this set. Printed by hand using traditional Pakistani wooden blocks onto soft blush cotton, each piece is simple, beautiful and completely handmade.
The Gulabi Aangan set includes a pair of oblong cushions and a matching 30cm lampshade, all hand block printed in the same pink mandala design so they work together effortlessly in any room.
